Opglabeek Nature Relief Center
Our operation
The Natuurhulpcentrum is a rescue center for sick, injured and needy wild animals. Both native and exotic animals are surrounded with the best care. In addition, education and training is an important aspect.
History
The Natuurhulpcentrum was founded in 1976, then under the name 'vogelasyl'. But very soon it turned out that the name didn't cover it, because more and more squirrels, hedgehogs and other mammals came in. This is how we came up with the name Natuurhulpcentrum. Even after so many years, this appears to be a good choice, because this name still covers the load.
Out of love for nature, some young people took.....
SHOLiA
The foundation's main activity is running a sponsorship program for the primary education of orphans at a boarding school in Mbarrara in Uganda. Every year we look for a number of sponsors who are willing to pay for the costs of education and accommodation at the school of an orphaned child for a period of seven years. The foundation takes care of the recruitment of the sponsors, the preparation of the notarial documents and the agreements with the school, the correspondence and reports on the progress of the children. The program currently comprises 67 children and involves a flow of funds of approximately fifteen thousand euros annually.​
